Muharram moon sighted in Pakistan, Ashura on Oct 1

KARACHI: The moon of Moharramul Harram 1439 AD has been sighted in the country and the Ashura would fall on October 1 (Sunday).

Chairman Ruet-e-Hillal Committee Mufti Munibur Rehman Thursday announced that Muharam ul Haram moon has been sighted and the first of Muharm ul Haram will be observed on Friday September 22.

According to statement issued here on Thursday the meetings of Ruet e Hillal Committees at districts,provincial and zonal level were held across the country.

The Muharram moon was sighted clearly in different parts of the coutry including Bahwelpur, Khanpur,Islamabad,Lahor and Karachi.

Meanwhile, members of the Committee have appealed to the people  cooperate with the government and law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order situation.

The meeting of the central Ruet-e-Hilal committee was held here at the Meteorological Department office.
