KARACHI/QUETTA/LAHORE: Cellular services were restored across Pakistan on Friday night after they were suspended during the day as part of security arrangements for Moharram-ul-Haram.
According to details, mobile phone services were suspended earlier during the day in sensitive areas of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
In Sindh, mobile phone services were shut down in Karachi and seven other cities.
According to the home department of Sindh government, cellular service had been suspended in view of security concerns ahead of mourning processions of 8th Moharram.
Other cities where mobile phone services were suspended include Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad, Quetta, and Gilgit-Baltistan. –SAMAA
