PESHAWAR: At least five people were injured on Friday when a blast took place on the outskirts of Peshawar, Samaa reported.

According to our correspondent, the explosion occurred outside a private hospital in Shunwari Town located on Ring Road at around 2:50pm.

Police and rescue teams reached the blast site and shifted the injured to hospitals.

Nature of the blast could not be confirmed immediately.

The blast came amid tight security across the country for Muharram procession and Majalis.

The authorities have banned pillion riding of motorbike and suspended cellular phone services in different cities as a security measure for the religious gatherings. – Samaa
