Court grants Zafar Hijazi bail in record tampering case

ISLAMABAD: The Special Judge Central approved Zafar Hijazi’s bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case on Tuesday which means that the suspended SECP chairman will most probably be released today (Tuesday).  According to details, the bail request of Zafar Hijazi was approved during a hearing of the Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case....

ISLAMABAD: The Special Judge Central approved Zafar Hijazi's bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case on Tuesday which means that the suspended SECP chairman will most probably be released today (Tuesday). 

According to details, the bail request of Zafar Hijazi was approved during a hearing of the Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case.

Zafar Hijazi has been asked to deposit two surety bonds worth Rs 500,000 each. A case had been registered against Hijazi on the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on July 10, 2017.

He was arrested from the vicinity of the court after his pre-arrest bail was cancelled on July 21. He was sent on judicial remand to prison on July 29.  The Special Judge Central had reserved his verdict on Hijazi's bail request.

The reserved judgement was announced by the judge today (Tuesday).
