ISLAMABAD: Who is Arsala Saleem—lady police officer who will accompany Maryam Nawaz as she appears before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) tomorrow (Wednesday)?

The lady officer came to media limelight during Tayyaba torture case some days ago as she accompanied the little girl to Supreme Court of Pakistan and Islamabad High Court.

She has been assigned the duty once again to escort Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) where she will be questioned by Panama JIT.

24-year old Arsala Saleem, who is resident of Islamabad, is functioning as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) at Ramna Police Station located in the federal capital’s Sector G-11.

It should be mentioned here that Maryam Nawaz will appear for the first time before the Panama interrogators. She has already flown to Pakistan from London for the purpose.

She will be quizzed about various points regarding the dependency, estates owned by her and Sharif family and exchange of gifts worth millions of rupees.

Maryam Nawaz will take Arsala Saleem, SSP Special Branch inside Judicial Academy.

It should be mentioned here that the JIT itself wrote a letter to Inspector General of Capital Police for specification of a lady police officer.

The lady officer not only performs her duties while staying at office but also takes an active part in the operations side by side with Rangers and other law-enforcement agencies.

She also patrols different sectors of Islamabad every night. –SAMAA
