Chairing a meeting held here, to review performance of NAB, the Chairman said since NAB’s inception, one of its major achievements has been recovery of around Rs. 287.763 billion of ill-gotten money which was deposited in the national exchequer.

He said during tenure of present management, NAB has recovered Rs. 45 billion. The figures of complaints, inquiries and investigations are almost doubled as compared to same period of 2014 to 2017.

The increase in number of complaints also reflects enhanced public trust in NAB.

He said Pakistan is considered as role model for SAARC countries in eradication of corruption it is the only country whose Corruption Perception Index (CPI) according to Transparency International report has been decreased from 175 to 116 during last three years.

Qamar Zaman said NAB has devised a comprehensive Quantified Grading System in order to review and further improve performance of officers/officials.

Under this grading system, NAB Regional Bureau’s are being evaluated for last three years on annual basis at a given criteria which has proved very successful.
