ISLAMABAD: A three member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has summoned PTI Chairman Imran Khan to prove his case in hearing of a petition seeking his disqualification.
The Chief Justice said certain important questions were raised in the case. He expressed dissatisfaction over the reply submitted by the counsel appearing on behalf of Imran Khan.
The apex court said the PTI chief will have to give all details regarding payments in London and as to how and when the payments were made.
The Chief Justice said Imran Khan will have to prove his money earned from cricket.
He said Imran Khan should appear in person and explain his position. Later, the hearing was adjourned till Thursday.
The petition, filed by the PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi, accuses the two PTI leaders of not declaring their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and seeks to unseat them based on alleged violations of the lncome Tax Ordinance 1979 and Peoples Act 1974.–SAMAA/APP
