Pakistan Army launches Khyber-4 operation

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army on Sunday announced that it has launched Khyber-4 operation against terrorists, Samaa reported.

Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor made the announcement while speaking in a press briefing.

He said that a major operation was carried out Rajgal Valley along Pakistan-Afghan border on Sunday morning.

DG ISPR stated that 46 operations were carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad across Pakistan.

He added that terrorism in Karachi has gone down by 98 percent.

He also said that 22 terrorists were killed in Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad in Punjab.

Ghafoor stated that terrorists are targeting easy targets.

Speaking on the Line of Control violations being carried out by India, he said that the South Asian country targets civilian population.

He said that Pakistan Army cooperated during the census and is also ready to deal with the flood situation.

Asif Ghafoor stated that military court had rejected Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav's first appeal. He added that it Chief of Army Staff is considering the second appeal.

Speaking on the Raymond Davis issue, he said that Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) was not the only institution involved in the matter. He added, "Other government institutions were also involved in the matter."

He said that Pakistan Army is a part of Pakistan and is working for the country's defence.

He went on to say that the constitution of Pakistan should be respected by all.

DG ISPR said that Pakistan Army is not directly linked with joint investigation team (JIT). He added that Inter Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence (MI) officials did their work with honesty. - Samaa
