FAISALABAD: It has been 24 hours since the security of the Faisalabad Agriculture University had thrashed SAMAA TV's crew yet no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the culprits.

Police on Wednesday refused to include the name of Rana Iqrar, the Vice Chancellor of the Faisalabad Agriculture University, in any FIR for the attack that took place on the crew of SAMAA TV.

According to details, the Civil Lines Police Station said the name of Rana Iqrar, the Vice Chancellor of Faisalabad Agriculture University, cannot be included in any FIR for the attack that took place on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had condemned the incident that had taken place at the university, when security guards had thrashed the crew of SAMAA TV which had arrived to cover an issue related to the students.

The negligence on behalf of the police on such a serious issue raises questions on whether the Vice Chancellor, who is a relative of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, is above the law and cannot be held accountable for his actions.
