ISLAMABAD: Reacting to PML-N MNA Javed Latif’s clash with PTI lawmaker Murad Saeed, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has directed his party members to boycott any public forum where Latif is invited.

“No PTI rep will go on any TV chat show where Jawed Latif is invited. In any civilised country he would be banned from all public forums,” Imran Khan said on Twitter.

Imran Khan also directed his party members and leaders not to attend any public forum where the PML-N lawmaker is invited.

“Nor will our party members & leaders attend any public forum event where Jawed Latif is invited.”

In his multiple tweets later in the day, the PTI chief also referred to past events to prove his point against the PML-N. He condemned the incident and gave different reasons which led to the scuffle.

“Condemn in strongest terms the shocking abusive language used by PMLN MNA Jawed Latif against Murad Saeed's female family mbrs.”

“Stooping to such depths esp in our society where the sanctity of our families is respected by even the worst of enemies is unacceptable.”

“PMLN again shows its fake adherence to respecting "chadar & chardiwari" while disrespecting women, including family mbrs of opponents”

“Sharifs targeted BB & Mrs Bhutto; they targeted Jemima incl labelling her "Yahudi lobby" & falsely accusing her of smuggling antiquities”

“Hypocrisy & a fake sense of morality are clearly the hallmark of the PMLN. Their disrespect for women is visible inside & outside Parliament”.

Yesterday, an incident of scuffle between members of the opposition PTI and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) occurred at the main entrance to the Parliament House.

Eyewitnesses and footage of the incident showed PTI MNA Murad Saeed attempting to punch and slap PML-N MNA Mian Javed Latif while the latter was leaving the Parliament House.

Saeed got angry after Latif called Imran Khan a “traitor”. The two MNAs earlier exchanged harsh words inside the main lobby of parliament, but were prevented from getting physical by other legislators, security personnel and journalists who were present there.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has constituted a six-member committee under Ghous Bux Mehar of the PML-Functional to investigate the matter. The committee has been asked to submit its report to the speaker by March 16. - Samaa
