ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali says that 45 websites and 65 Facebook pages containing blasphemous content have been blocked in Pakistan in the last two days.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Nisar said social networking giant Facebook has agreed to address Pakistan’s concern on the issue of blasphemy.
“We are going to find a permanent solution of this issue now. There is nothing more precious to us than our faith,” he said.
“Anyone can turn violent after seeing the sacrilegious content,” he asserted.
The Interior Minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has commended the efforts being made to block blasphemous content.
“We have also written a letter to Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in order to evolve a consensus among Muslim nations on blasphemy,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said that a new online system was being introduced to issue visas.
“The Prime Minister has accorded his approval to the new visa system,” he maintained. – SAMAA

Blasphemy content, anti Pakistan and anti Army propaganda on social media must be addressed once and for all. National Internet FIREWALL could be created as done in China (Great FIREWALL). Good efforts and positive steps in the right direction.
