KARACHI: Inspector General of Sindh police AD Khawaja Tuesday said officers who participated in Karachi’s targeted operation were killed and when their morale plummeted, the paramilitary force came into action.

Addressing a ceremony at Karachi Chamber of Commerce here, Khawaja said those behind the killing of policemen are sitting in the corridors of power.

The situation was so bad that the personnel were not willing to go home while clad in police uniform; however, they laid down their lives to grab successes in operation against the crimes in Karachi.

Picking apart the government, Sindh’s top cop said the government institutions did not rise to the expectations of the masses. –SAMAA
