Two cops killed while defusing bomb in Quetta

QUETTA: Two police officiers were killed and nine others were wounded when a bomb they were trying to defuse went off here on Monday.

According to police, members of bomb disposal squad were called in to defuse a bomb, which was placed near Karachi Stop on Sariab Road.

The bomb, however, exploded, leaving two personnel dead on the spot. One of the victims was identified as Commander Abdul Razzaq.

Earlier in the day,  at least 11 people, including DIG Traffic Captain Ahmed Mubeen and SSP Zahid Gondal, were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up at Faisal Chowk near Punjab Assembly during a protest sit-in in Lahore. – SAMAA
