RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday said that Pakistan army will extend full support to for holding Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore.
Talking about linkage between Monday’s blast outside Punjab Assembly with an attempt to sabotage PSL final, General Bajwa said: “Army will extend full support to all concerned for holding the event as scheduled”.
He was chairing a security meeting at Corps Headquarters, where Corps Commander Lahore Lt-Gen Sadiq Ali and intelligence agencies briefed him on the last night blast.
The army chief said that such incidents can neither lower the nation’s resolve nor can affect the country’s efforts against terrorism.
He said that terrorists of all hue and colour, their masters, financiers, planners and abettors including from outside will be hunted across the country, held accountable and responded to.
“Our gains over the years cannot be reversed,” General Bajwa added.
He appreciated efforts of intelligence agencies in tracing culprits of last night blast which have resulted in to important apprehensions overnight including few Afghans.
He directed to expedite efforts to unearth complete network. –Samaa
