ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday transferred torture case of child maid Tayyaba to Islamabad High Court (IHC) for further trial.

According to our correspondent, Chief Justice, Justice Saqib Nisar, while leading a three-member bench heard the case today in Supreme Court.

In today’s proceeding, Islamabad police told the bench that challan against accused judge and his wife has been prepared and would be submitted today.

An inquiry report prepared by the Islamabad police has found Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan’s and his wife Maheen responsible for torture on child maid Tayyaba.

The couple has denied allegations and acquired pre-arrest bail.

Senior lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir also attended the hearing. She said the accused were hurriedly granted bail by Islamabad Sessions Court.

At which, the CJP sought a written clarification from the session judge.

The CJP ordered that the case will further be conducted by IHC. He said the maid will continue to stay in the Sweet Homes shelter till her actual parents are determined.

The hearing was adjourned for two weeks. – Samaa
