LAHORE: Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF), launched by CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in 2008, has become a ray of hope for under-privileged people of the entire country as it provides them a platform to continue their journey of education.
The Punjab government’s Fund has its scope not limited to Punjab as it provides equal opportunities to talented deserving students from Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, GB and AJK as well.
According to Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, the PEEF that Punjab government initiated eight years ago with Rs 1 billion had now risen to Rs 17 billion.
He said the government had disbursed Rs 7.5 billion scholarships among 178,000 needy students and all the scholarships were being provided purely on merit basis.
He said the government was taking revolutionary measures to promote quality education especially for under privileged students that would take the country to new heights of development and prosperity.
