ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday resumed hearing into Panama Papers case, as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s counsel Naeem Bukhari continued his arguments regarding alleged offshore assets of the Sharif family.
A five-member Bench, headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa is hearing the case on daily basis. Other bench members are Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan.
Yesterday, the Jamaat-e-Islami filed a petition in the court seeking Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s appearance in the apex court to clarify the controversy that has arisen due to his National Assembly speech regarding his family’s alleged offshore assets.
In another development yesterday, Justice Khosa withdrew his previous observation in the case about implementation of Article 62 and 63 dealing with honesty and truthfulness of lawmakers. – Samaa
