Karachi: A video went viral on Social Media on Thursday about a man claiming that his father had passed away due to the carelessness of the staff at Aga Khan University Hospital Pakistan.

According to the son of the deceased, the hospital had administered the patient with the wrong injection by the fresh trainee on shift. He said that instead of administrating a 4mg injection, the patient was given a 40mg dose in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

He also added that his father, who had been admitted for the past seven days, was clinically dead and the hospital administration had failed to arrange a ventilator on time. In the video that has surfaced on social media, the man shows the ID card of the trainee that he claims had given the wrong dosage. He said that as soon as his father collapsed, the trainee doctor tried to escape with the injection and was being protected by the hospital.

In response to this, AKUH dismissed the allegations as unsubstantiated and inflammatory, but added it was investigating the matter.
