KARACHI: In a practical step to promote gender equality and women empowerment in media, SAMAA TV on Monday appointed Faryal Arif as its first female bureau chief of Karachi.

Faryal Arif has been associated with SAMAA since its launch and has proved herself to be worthy of the challenging media position.

While working as a reporter for SAMAA TV, Faryal has always been up to the task at hand.

“Its an hour to be appointed as the first female bureau chief of SAMAA and I am very thankful to the management for showing confidence in my work,” she said.

In March last year on the International Women’s Day, she was presented with an award for her performance in journalism by Women Media Center Pakistan, a group which promotes gender equality in Pakistani media. – SAMAA
