RAWALPINDI: Pakistan army on Friday appointed newly promoted Lt-Gen Nadeem Raza as Commander 10 Corps Rawalpindi in place of Lt-Gen Zafar Iqbal, who was posted Director General JS at JSHQ (Joint Staff Headquarters).

In a press statement today, ISPR said that Lt-Gen. Sarfaraz Sattar has been appointed commander of the Pakistan Army’s 2 Corps based at Multan.

Earlier in the day, the selection board of Pakistan Army has approved promotion of seven major generals to the rank of lieutenant general.

According to a handout issued by the ISPR the officers recommended for promotion to the rank of lieutenant general held the following ranks: Major General Nadeem Raza (Presently commandant Pakistan Military Academy), Major General Humayun Aziz (Director General Welfare and Rehabilitation at General Headquarters),Major General Naeem Ashraf (Posted at National Defence University), Major General Muhammad Afzal (Presently Director General Frontier Works Organisation), Major General Sher Afgun (Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan), Major General Qazi Ikram (Director General Personnel Directorate at General Headquarters), Major General Bilal Akbar (Director General Rangers (Sindh).

The decision comes nearly two weeks after the appointment of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Jawed Bajwa. SAMAA
