KARACHI: Former Chief Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui Friday took oath of the office of Sindh Governor. He is 30th governor of the province, Samaa reported.

Chief Justice Sindh High Court Syed Sajjad Ali Shah administered the oath to Justice Siddiqui at a ceremony in Governor House.

Former top judge Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui has replaced Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, who held the office for some 14 years.

The outgoing Governor Dr. Ishrat ul Ibad, appointed in December 2002, is the longest serving governor in Pakistan.

He has left for Dubai. He was locked in heated exchange of accusations with former Karachi Mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal, who blamed him for sheltering criminals. - Samaa
