ISLAMABAD: PML-N leader Maryam Aurangzeb has been appointed as Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting in place of Pervez Rasheed, who was sacked over a controversial news report.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved the appointment of Maryam Aurangzeb.
She was elected as Member of National Assembly on reserved seat for women.
The newly-appointed minister of state for information is also a board member of LEAD and served as communication manager at WWF
On Saturday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif asked Pervez Rasheed to step down to pave way for an independent inquiry into a security meeting’s leak to media earlier this month.
Pakistan army called the “planted” story as a breach of national security and called for actin against all those responsible. – SAMAA
