ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Thursday condemned India’s unprovoked firing along the Line of Control, saying that Pakistan Army will respond in a befitting manner if the Indian aggression continued.

“The Indian army fired in five sectors of Azad Kashmir where two of our soldiers were martyred and nine others injured,” he said while speaking to Samaa.

“It was a deliberate act by them to satisfy their masses and media. We have responded well and can retaliate in a befitting manner if they repeated the ceasefire violation,” Khawaja Asif said.

Earlier today, India claimed that it had conducted military strikes along its de facto border with Pakistan in Azad Kashmir to ‘thwart attacks’ on some of its biggest cities.

However, Pakistan Army rejected the Indian claim.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the naked aggression of Indian forces and warned that Pakistan’s intent for peaceful neighbourhood should not be mistaken as its weakness. - Samaa
