ISLAMABAD: MQM Pakistan leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that dispensation of justice was crucial to restore peace in Karachi.

“Thousands of MQM workers are languishing in jails in Karachi while those who are leaving our party are pardoned,” Siddiqui told media persons outside the Parliament House.

He said that around 80 percent of MQM’s offices demolished in a crackdown in Karachi were built on legally-acquired land.

“It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Sharif has no time to provide justice to the MQM. But let me make it clear that without justice, peace is not possible,” he said.

His criticism came shortly after MQM’s members made a failed attempt to meet the prime minister in his office.

“Prime Minister Sharif left his chamber before the arrival of MQM’s members,” a source told SAMAA TV. – SAMAA
