Autumn Equinox in Pakistan and other countries today

day-night

KARACHI: On account of Autumn Equinox, countries of the Northern Hemisphere, including Pakistan, will experience equal hours of daytime and nighttime today.

A biannual event, it is when the sun passes directly over Earth’s equator splitting the hours of daylight and nighttime into equal hours, marking the beginning of longer nights and shorter days.

The phenomenon occurs twice a year, the first being 22nd March for the Spring Equinox following which days become longer and nights shorten, and the other taking place on 22nd September, the advent of autumn and subsequently, winter. –SAMAA
