KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said it is impossible to rid Karachi from trash and clean it within three days.

The chief minister was speaking to the media prior to his departure to Dubai on Saturday.

He visited different neighbourhoods and towns within the ever-expanding metropolis to examine the progress made in the mission to clean Karachi.

However, the CM was criticised of visiting only those places where some work had been done and they appeared relatively clean.

"Nobody knew about my route," the CM said in his defense, adding what he meant by the three-day ultimatum was that work to clean the city should start.

"I am going to issue an extension so that work picks up pace and Karachi can, indeed, be cleaned up," Shah added.

A time span of two to three months will be required to complete this massive challenge of cleaning Karachi, he speculated. -- SAMAA
