Qureshi and Clinton, who were foreign ministers of Pakistan and US respectively in 2010, got media attention when latter collapsed into giggled during a press conference with former in Washington.

It came as they announced  a ‘new spirit of cooperation’ between the two countries.

In October 2011, during the “town hall” meeting in Islamabad, a Pakistani woman told Clinton that the US acted like Pakistan’s mother-in-law.

“We are trying to please you, and every time you come and visit us you have a new idea and tell us, ‘You are not doing enough and need to work harder,'” she said, triggering laughter and applause.

Clinton, whose daughter married a New York investment banker, smiled and replied: “Now that I am a mother-in-law, I totally understand what you’re saying.” -Samaa
