PML-N wins LA-39, LA-40 seats

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League (N) won the two seats in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections LA-39 Valley 4 and LA-40 Valley 5 here Thursday.

According to unofficial result, PML (N) candidate Asad Aleem Shah defeated PPP candidate Azhar Gillani in LA-39, Valley 4, while Muhammad Ahmed Qadri of PML (N) defeated PPP candidate and former Minister Abdul Salam Butt in LA-40 Valley 5.

In LA-39 five candidates contested including Asad Aleem Shah of PML(N), Azhar Gillani of PPP, Syed Ishtiaq of PTI and Raja Aurangzeb and Hasham Butt as Independent. The constituency comprises areas of Rawalpindi city and cantonment.

Eight candidates contested for the LA-40 seat including Muhammad Ahmed Qadri of PML(N), Abdul Salam Butt of PPP, and Mehr un Nisa of Muslim Conference backed by PTI, while five others  contested as independent candidates.

The constituency comprises Rawalpindi city, Murree, Hasan Abdal, Taxila, Wah and Kahuta. –APP
