ISLAMABAD: Widespread rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

Intermittent spells of moderate to heavy showers, that began late Saturday in Punjab, continued today (Sunday) in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Attock and others cities.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad, Lahore and Quetta 25 degree centigrade, Karachi 30, Peshawar and Gilgit 28, Muzaffarabad 21 and Murree 18 degree centigrade.

Synoptic Situation:

Heat low lies over North Balochistan with its trough extending southeastwards.

Monsoon currents are penetrating in central and upper parts of the country. A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Thursday. Under the influence of these meteorological conditions weather will remain as follows:

Widespread rain/dust-thundershowers with isolated heavy falls accompanied by windstorm are expected in Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions), upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions), Kashmir (Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Poonch divisions), while at scattered places in south Punjab (Multan, Sahiwal, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur divisions), Bannu, D.I Khan, Zhob divisions, FATA (Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, North & South Waziristan Agencies) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
