SC summons heads of KMC, KCDG in a suo-moto case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday summoned the chiefs of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and Karachi City District Government (KCDG) over KMC land issue.

The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the suo-moto notice case regarding turning of Islamic center building into cinema.

During the course of proceedings, Additional Advocate General Sindh submitted report and stated that the centre was leased out to Fun & Drama party which changedthe center into picture house.

On which, the court issued notices to owners of the company Furqan Haider and Muhammad Riaz.

The court also expressed displeasure over absence of KMC and Karachi metropolitan representatives.

Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till second week of June. –APP
