“The army chief has ordered inquiry to find out truth in the case of Aftab Ahmed. He has instructed to ensure that justice must be done,” according to ISPR.

“A high-level investigation committee has been constituted on directives of DG Rangers to ascertain motives behind Aftab Ahmed’s death… Officials possibly involved in the incident have been suspended,” Rangers spokesman said in a statement.

Husain was coordinator of senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar. Rangers say he was “wanted in several criminal cases” and had died of a heart attack.

“During custody he complained of chest pain on Tuesday morning and was rushed to the hospital where he died,” the Rangers said in a statement.  – Samaa/Agencies
