General Raheel, Olson discuss security situation

RAWALPINDI: The visiting US special representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard G. Olson, Thursday called on Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in Rawalpindi on Thursday.     

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), they discussed overall regional security situation with particular reference to Afghanistan.

The special representative also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in fight against terrorism.


Earlier, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also met Olson.

On the occasion, the finance minister said US Exim Bank’s planned financing for 3,600 megawatts of LNG based power projects would open new avenues of bilateral cooperation.

The visiting dignitary informed the Minister about the preparations for US-Pak Business Opportunities Conference to be held in New York on 3rd of the next month. –Samaa
