ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan Ambassador to Pakistan Omer Zakhilwal called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and discussed issues related to bilateral relations with particular focus on border management.
In a statement on Twitter, DG ISA Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa said that General Raheel Sharif and Afghan envoy agreed to resume routine border traffic at Torkham crossing.
Tension was reported at the crossing, which was blocked on May 11 over security concenrs.
The two sides showed the resolve to continue efforts to fight terrorism and bring lasting peace in the region, Bajwa said. – SAMAA
