KARACHI: Rangers on Tuesday recovered weapons in huge quantity from a house located in Azizabad area of Karachi, close to Muttahida Qaumi Movement headquarters Nine Zero, Samaa reported.

Speaking to reporters after the action, Wing Commander Sindh Rangers, Colonel Faisal said the ‘targeted search operation’ was carried out on indication of a ‘most wanted target killer’ Muhammad Kashif alias David.

He claimed the suspected hit-man belongs to MQM, and was wanted in various cases of target-killings and terrorism.

“Kashif was arrested last night during an operation,” the officer told reporters, revealing no further details.

Earlier, Rangers sealed off all entrance and exit points near Mor Park located in Azizabad area of Karachi and launched search operation.

According to Rangers, the paratroopers raided a two-storey house, that was apparently a tuition centre, and recovered weapons in ‘huge quantity’ including SMGs and bombs.

Rangers uniforms were also taken into custody from an abandoned house, Colonel Faisal said.

Today’s raid was carried out near MQM headquarter Nine Zero where the paramilitary troops raided last year and arrested several wanted criminals besides seizing weapons in large quantity.

Meanwhile, senior MQM leader Wasay Jalil claimed that Kashif was captured six months back from Dubai, describing it a ‘reactionary’ action.

“Kashif was arrested 6 mon back 4m Dubai. MK&Co couldnt fulfilled LEAs dream as Jalsa was flopped so its a "Reaction" , he said on Twitter.  - Samaa
