SHABQADAR: At least 16 people, including three policemen, were killed and more than 20 others wounded when a blast ripped through a court complex in Charsadda tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Samaa reported Monday.
Police claimed that it was a suicide attack that occurred outside a local court in Shabqadar, a small town in Charsadda tehsil nearly 30 kilometres from Peshawar.
Deputy Commissioner Tahir Zafar confirmed that eight people, among them three policemen, have been martyred.

Police said a suicide bomber blew himself up after security officials stopped him at entrance of the local court. The explosion destroyed several shops and vehicles caught fire.
Eyewitnesses said the attacker also exchanged fire with police in the area where a busy market place and government offices are located.
Police and rescue teams thronged to the spot after the blast. The dead and injured were shifted to district headquarters hospital. Officials said at least 22 injured were ferried to the hospital.
Bomb disposal squad collected evidences as security forces cordoned off the scene. – Samaa
