ISLAMABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Monday extended the remand of three suspects in connection with MQM senior leader Dr Imran Farooq murder case for 14 days.

Three suspects including Khalid Shamim, Syed Mohsin Ali and Moazzam Ali were produced before the special court under high security arrangements.

The investigation officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had pleaded for extension in remand, subsequently the ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi conceded to the request.

The court ordered to produce all the three convicts before the court after expiry of 14-day remand on January 18.

Simultaneously, an investigation into the murder of Imran Farooq is under way in the UK, while the FIA has registered a case under the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act after taking the three suspects into custody. –APP
