ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has not requested the United Kingdom (UK) to hand over any accused in Dr Imran Farooq murder case, an Interior Ministry spokesman said here on Saturday.

The spokesman, in a statement, said at this stage, the case is going through different stages of investigation and any demand to Scotland Yard (for handing over accused living in the UK) would be before time and meaningless.

Moreover, no application has also been received from Britain for handing over of any accused arrested in Pakistan, he added.

He said news appearing in some sections  of the media were speculative.

Such kind of speculations could have a negative impact on the investigation, so these should be avoided, he added. - APP
