Lahore assault case: court extends remand of accused for two days

LAHORE: A local court on Wednesday extended physical remand of eight accused involved in gang-rape case for another two days.

Earlier, the police produced eight accused including Mian Umar Yasin, Qamar Zaman, Ameer Muhammad, Bilawal Mir, Haris Aslam, Abdul Majid, Imran Shahid and Adnan Sana Ullah before Judicial Magistrate Shafique Ahmad in cantt courts.

The police requested the court to extend physical remand of the accused for another five days for investigation purposes.

However, the court extended the remand for two days and directed the police to produce the accused again on expiry of the remands.

Race Course police had registered a kidnapping and rape case against the said accused who allegedly raped a 8th class student in a Mall Road guest house. - APP
