Rangers file Rs. 500 mln legal notice against Waseem Akhtar

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers Thursday filed a damages notice of Rs.500 million against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader Waseem Akhtar, Samaa reported.

According to our correspondent, Rangers counsel filed the damages suit in Sindh High Court, stating that Waseem Akhtar had ‘falsely’ accused the paramilitary troops of snatching and stealing hides of sacrificial animals in Karachi.

The Rangers, in the notice, asked the senior MQM leader to furnish evidences or pay Rs. 500 million as damages. While accepting Rangers application, the court issued notice to Waseem Akhtar to appear before the court in the next hearing. – Samaa
