ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan Tuesday overruled the order of Sindh High Court that issued directives to vacate and demolish Moon Garden apartment in Karachi, bringing a sigh of relief for the residents of the building, Samaa reported.

The apex court also approved for hearing the petition filed by builder and residents of Moon Garden apartment.

The Supreme Court ordered Abdul Razzaq Khamosh, the builder of the apartment, to deposit Rs 10 crore to the court as surety for the residents.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh High Court had issued an order to vacate and demolish Moon Garden, which is said to have been illegally constructed on Railways Housing property.

Talking to media outside the SC building, counsel of Khamosh said that the court ordered to deposit Rs 5 crore cash and remaining Rs 5 crore as bank guarantee.

On the occasion, the builder said he would implement the apex court’s order.

Later, Khamosh was arrested and shifted to local police station in Islamabad. –Samaa
