PML-N workers torture Samaa team in Mianwali

MIANWALI: Workers of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) tortured Samaa team, which arrived in Daud Khel to cover second phase of Local Government elections Thursday.

The Samaa team had reached Daud Khel after it obtained complains of rigging in the constituency.

The PML-N workers attacked the team when it was making footages of the polling stations, while police deployed on the site remained the silent spectator on the assault.

Inspector General of Punjab Police Mushtaq Sukhera took notice of the incident and directed the district police officer to immediately reach the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanullah said that the party would take action against the people who were involved in beating Samaa team.

Earlier, Polling for second phase of local bodies’ elections began in 12 districts of Punjab and 14 districts of Sindh under tight security. –Samaa
