Samaa team in Shangla to highlight plight of quake victims

SHANGLA: Monday’s devastating earthquake has left more than 40 people in Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing widespread devastation in the mountainous area, Samaa reported.

Army and rescue teams are busy in relief and rescue activities in the northwest region where dozens of houses collapsed due to a powerful earthquake in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Despite bad weather, Samaa’s reporting team made it to reach the affected area to highlight miseries of the victims following the calamity; however, the DSNG van carrying our team met a mishap when landslide hit the vehicle late night.

Landslide overturned the van and the team members saved their lives by smashing windowpanes, suffering slight injuries in the accident.
Our team members were later rescued by army personnel and were shifted to Bhisham hospital.

Determined for the coverage of earthquake affectees, the team members later reached Shangla, and kicked off the coverage. – Samaa
