ISLAMABAD: The nation celebrated Eidul Azha with great religious fervour today (Friday) to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the peace, progress and well-being of the Ummah and Pakistan.

Eid congregations were held at Masajid, Imambargahs, Eidgahs, and open places in cities, towns, and villages across the country.

In the Federal Capital, the main Eid congregation was at the Faisal Mosque. After offering the Eid prayers, the faithful  sacrificed animals. The practice will continue for all three days of Eid.

Federal and provincial governments have chalked out elaborate security plans.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police devised a comprehensive security plan to guard worship places and effective patrolling in various part of the city during Eid holidays. - SAMAA
