KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Air Force Day is being celebrated today (Monday) to recall tremendous role and victory of Pakistan’s air force during 1965 war against India when PAF vanquished a three times larger enemy and wrote an epic of unmatched sacrifice, Samaa reported.
The day is being celebrated a day after 50th national Defence Day which the nation observed with fervor to pay tribute to heroes of 1965 battle, renewing the spirit of loyalty and services to the motherland.
Special ceremonies are being held at all bases of PAF to pay homage to martyrs who laid down their lives defending the country.
A special ceremony was held at the PAF headquarters in Islamabad this morning where acting Air Chief, Air Marshal Rashid Kamal, was the chief guest. He laid floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered Fateha.
Air Vice Marshal Salman Bokhari visited Mazar of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed in Karachi this morning to homage to the recipient of Nissan-e-Haider.
He laid floral wreath on the Mazar and offered Fateha.
On Sunday, the Defence Day was celebrated by PAF at all its airbases across the country in a befitting manner, with a renewed pledge and determination to make “Fizaia” even more stronger and potent force to face any challenge. – Samaa/APP
