ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Perrvaiz Rashid Wednesday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had handed over the reins of “New Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” to timber mafia.
The so-called “model police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” in itself had assumed the role of timber mafia, he said while commenting to wood theft worth billions of rupees from forests in Jandool of Dir district.
On one side Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was claiming wild dreams of planting one billion saplings in KP, but on the other hand timber theft continued unabated in the province and his party could not stop cutting of trees worth billions of rupees from forests in the province, he added.
He said the misdeeds of timber mafia in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were the worst examples of the so-called good governance of Imran Khan in the province. –APP
