Asad Murtaza Stills NEW  25-09 SHiRaZISLAMABAD: As many as 316 Pakistanis are believed to be missing in the aftermath of a deadly stampede, which killed more than 700 pilgrims at Mina yesterday, officials say.

Abu Akif, Director General of Hajj Operations, told SAMAA that 316 were still missing.

“We have confirmation about the death of seven Pakistanis while 13 are injured,” he said.

A doctor of Pakistani Hajj Mission was present at the city’s main morgue, he said.

To a question, he said that the Hajj mission was faced with many difficulties in tracing the missing pilgrims.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the missing pilgrims and directed authorities to take steps for their recovery. – SAMAA
