RAWALPINDI: In high-level promotions in Pakistan Army top brass, four Major Generals were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

According to ISPR, Maj. Gen. Sadiq Ali, Maj. Gen. Umar Durrani, Director General Military Operations, Maj. Gen. Aamir Riaz, and Director General ISPR, Maj. Gen. Asim Bajwa has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif has approved the top-level promotions.

Meanwhile, ISPR announced that Asim Bajwa will continue to serve as DG ISPR (military spokesman). This is the first time that a Lt. Gen. will head ISPR.

ISPR said Lt. Gen. Ikram-ul-Haq has been appointed as Corps Commander Gujranwala; Lt. Gen. Hilal Hussain as Commander of the Army Strategic Force Command (ASFC), and Lt. Gen. Malik Zafar Iqbal as Corps Commander Rawalpindi.  – Samaa
