RAWALPINDI: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Thursday visited Shawal valley of North Waziristan, where ground troops are engaged with the Taliban and other insurgents, Samaa reported.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief spent the day with troops participating in the ongoing operation in the area.

As many as 203 terrorists have been killed so far in the valley, the ISPR boss Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa wrote on twitter.

During the visit, the army chief directed the troops to comprehensively cleanse the terrorists hideouts, to reduce the isolated militants to their size and to sever their links with their abettors anywhere.

"We will not allow anyone to kill our people, children in this country. Will expose all faces who helped them at any stage in any way," ISPR chief wrote quoting Gen. Sharif.

The army chief also hailed the extra ordinary achievements in the operation against the militants, the military spokesman said. –Samaa
