ISLAMABAD: A standing committee of Senate on Tuesday took notice of the irregularities and delay in the construction of the Cardiac Center in the PIMS hospital Islamabad, Samaa reported.
The standing committee reviewed the matters pertaining to PIMS hospital and Pakistan's Bait-ul-Mal in a meeting of chaired by the Senator Rana Hayat.
Taking notice of the delay and irregularities in the construction of Cardiac Center in PIMS costing 1.26 billion rupees, the committee ordered action against nine officers of Works Department and five officers of PIMS.
Vice Chancellor PIMS Javed Akram briefed the committee that the Cardiac Center project was scheduled to be built in two years but was completed in seven years and still have several problems.
The committee expressed dissatisfaction over non-submission of the reports of Bait-ul-Mal in the Parliament while summoning a district-wise list of patients who received treatment from the Bait-ul-Mal. – Samaa
