LAHORE: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Monday that a joint investigation report on Wazirabad train accident will be issued soon that would throw light over the real cause of the accident.

Talking to media here, the minister said that the Railways has launched an extensive Special Eid Operation this year as compared to the past.

He said that a huge reduction of fifty percent fares of special trains has been announced on 14th, 15th and 16th of this month to facilitate public on the eve of Eid ul Fitr.

Saad Rafique said that Pakistan Railways has enhanced its income at record level, while controlled its expenditures in recent years due to government successful measures.

On July 3, a special train carrying Pakistan army contingent derailed and fell into a canal near eastern town of Wazirabad killing at least 17. – APP/Samaa
